I had such high hopes for these shoes based off of the reviews for them but unfortunately they just didn't work for me. They rubbed the back of my feet and my feet would hurt for hours after my initial run/walks in them. I figured I just needed to break them in and needed to keep going but after 12 miles in the shoes I gave up on them because my feet hurt so bad. I also bought a pair of the hovr sonic's and am a huge fan of that style. They are more comfortable than the phantom's in my opinion. I'm a huge under armour fan and the fact that these shoes didn't work for me won't prevent me from buying future products. Not every product can be a winner.
I’ve been in the market for some new running shoes. I came across an advertisement for these and decided to give them a try because the reviews made them sound amazing, and because I own lots of UA sports clothing that I love, so I trust the brand. That being said, I think I bought into the hype a bit to much for these shoes. The shoes are classified as running shoes, and while you can run in them, you’ll regret doing so after a few miles. The mesh and cushion tech that is used to give them their springy feeling does not breath at all, nor does any of the material on the top of the shoe, which is surprising because the things feel like they are made out of clouds! They get very hot, very uncomfortable, and they cause blisters if you do any kind of long distance running and training. I even tried using them with special tech socks I have that prevent blisters... the material still gets incredibly hot and uncomfortable. Mine also felt unbalanced during my first run in them. One side was more springy than the other side for some reason, which threw my rythem off a bit. One other complaint I have is that the opening of the shoe is sock like, and it grips your ankles. While they feel very secure, they continuously rub your ankles until they create raws on your skin... even with decent socks on. While on the subject of socks, you will also need to wear larger than average running socks... or your ankles will really get rubbed by the opening of the shoes. I have a feeling that these would make great every day walking shoes, but they are most definitely not sport or running shoes. I’m not sure what to do with them now!
I bought this 2 months ago.. great for casual walks but not great for Running especially if you are planning for half to long Marathon
Once you get them on they are extremely comfortable. The issue is getting them on, they are like socks with running shoes attached to them. They in no way just slip on they need to be held open and manipulated not to fold over while putting your foot in them. They are like walking on a cloud though and I hope the more I wear them the wider the opening will get to them.
purchase this one size up, from reading pass reviews for wide feet.
ok received my shoe:
-really good cushion
-no toe room
-sole does not support entire foot, for me the front of my feet was hanging over the sole
if you have a narrow feet, this shoe is right for you
Make sure you order 1 size up then usual. I ordered half a size up (11 from my usual 10.5) and still a bit small length wise. I have given benefit of the doubt and am hoping the shoes will wear in and stretch out a bit after a couple of weeks. But I wish I had ordered 11.5
Short short short
This shoes is one of the strangest fit I ever come across. The comfort level has effected the lock down (foot slips back n forth when running). I went up half a size and still I find my foot pushing the front of the sneaker.
Yet the new hovr cushion is sweet (not boost but close).
I just wish I had tried a full size up.
After wearing them a couple of weeks I can say that the overall support and performance of these shoes are good but unfortunately they've been giving me blisters on my heels!
Trying to find a sock I can wear comfortably on my runs that sit well in the shoe and can prevent the blisters but I think they will just have to be worn in more for it to stop happening. Also waiting on blisters to heal is annoying but I do love the cushioning and look of the shoes.
