For some, the "'beater" look is their trademark and they can pull it off well. For me, I'd rather go the muscle shirt route. The UA Charged Cotton Tank is a big improvement to the traditional a-shirt. The material is far more substantial than the basic ribbed cotton of an a-shirt. Gray and black will hide the waistband of underwear while white will show through just a little, but none are anywhere near as see-through as a typical white a-shirt. It is also thick enough to actually provide some warmth on a cold night. The neckline is technically crew, but slightly lower with only a nod towards the scoop neck of an a-shirt. Same for the arm holes. They extend just past the armpit, yes, but not halfway down your ribs like a cotton a-shirt. Shoulder straps are far wider than a typical a-shirt and make for a more conservative look when walking around in public. When worn under a t-shirt, the straps and neckline do not show through nearly as bad as a traditional a-shirt. Height is decent as well. I'm past 6' and rarely have an issue with creeping, never had the sensation that the shirt is too small. All-in-all, this is a slight bump in class from the traditional a-shirt. I would not feel out of character walking around a supermarket in a shirt like this.
I had been a big fan of the Iso-Chill shirts, but the material was changed and I was forced to hunt for a new undershirt. These charged cotton tanks are a great alternative - extremely comfortable, good fit, happy with the purchase. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
Excellent shirt for wearing under clothes. Form fitting and cooling. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
This shirt offers a great fit and washes well. Will buy again [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I purchased the cotton and modal version of these undershirts. The fit is "to the skin" without compression, soft and cozy without being warm. Great quality and comfort, very pleased.
This is my impression of this item straight out of the box: Pros: - Well made and packaged. - Feels good to the touch (initially) Cons: - There are obviously different varieties of "Charged Cotton." One blend is 57% Cotton, 38% Polyester, 5% Elastane while the other is 47%Cotton, 47%Modal, 6%Elastane. At the time of purchase, I didn't know that and therefore didn't check the blend but that makes a HUGE difference to the feel for certain people. I prefer the blend which contains Polyester which feels much closer to authentic cotton but has the same cool comfort and quick drying traits that "Charged Cotton" is known for. I've seen other reviews which indicate folks don't like the neck crinkle. Coupled with drying on low, I think the polyester blend helps in that regard and it also resists wrinkles pretty well. That was by far the biggest issue that I had. - The shoulder straps and sleeves could stand to be a little narrower. I'm pretty traditional when it comes to my fit of tank tops and I just like the overall look better. To me these just look like sleeveless t-shirts.
Good quality garment, but sizing is definitely on large size,
